Today ten of our band students boarded a bus to perform at Chancellor State College as part of Education Queensland's biennial "Fanfare Festival", celebrating musical ensembles throughout Queensland State Schools. The statistics on this state-wide event which has been running for over twenty years are amazing in terms of numbers of students and groups performing. Fanfare was an opportunity for a quality performance experience for the students, not to mention a great goal to work towards. They performed as part of a combined schools band called "Chepalmbye Band", made up of almost 30 continuing Instrumental Music students from Chevallum, Palmwoods, Woombye and Burnside. They achieved a GOLD rating and certificate in recognition of their competent performance on the day. The students were also able to see other ensembles perform before returning to school, making for a memorable "music festival experience" for these young musicians. Congratulations to Laila, April, Grace, Zahli, Jaxon, Alex, Lachlan, Damon, Matthew and Seb on your efforts as members of the "award winning" Chepalmbye Band!

Instrumental Music Teacher
