Children should arrive by 8.30am but preferably not before 8.15am (Kids Club is available)
Our school proudly supports the Queensland Government's Every day counts initiative and is firmly
committed to improving student attendance at school.
- School lessons begin at 8.50am.
- First break is between 11.00am and 11.45am.
- Second break is between 1.15pm and 1.40pm.
- School is dismissed at 2.50pm.
- PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) Assembly is held at 8:50am Friday of even weeks in the hall.
- Celebration Assembly is held at 8:50am Friday of odd weeks in the hall. Your class teacher will inform you of the date that your child's class is presenting.
Children arriving prior to 8.15am are required to sit under A Block near admin. A staff member will collect these students and walk them to the hall to wait for the bell. Students who arrive after 8:15am can go straight to the hall to wait.
Having entered the school grounds in the morning, the children are not allowed to leave the grounds until they depart at 2.50pm. Exceptions can only be made with the parent’s written consent or if a child is picked up personally by a parent or nominated person. Any child who leaves the school prior to 2.50pm must be signed out at the school office.
It is the parents responsibility
to advise the school when a student will be absent and for what reason. At
Palmwoods State School you may advise of an absence by:
- QParents
- Phoning 5453 2444 and leaving a message on the
absentee line prior to 8:50am.
- Emailing admin@palmwoodsss.eq.edu.au
prior to 8:50am.
- Advising administration staff and or teachers of
students absence in person prior to 8:50am.
