Our Palmwoods School curriculum is developed through whole school professional development and collaborative planning sessions where teachers work with their Year level colleagues to design units of work.
Our Preparatory Year program is developed with the teachers implementing the Australian Curriculum through developmentally appropriate activities and establishing standards leading into Year 1.
Our NAPLAN data is used as a basis for reviewing our curriculum and teaching strategies.
We use a Behaviour Expectations Matrix which was developed through our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Process.
The school is well placed with a very experienced teaching staff. Teaching and learning takes place in all eight key learning areas, as well as in a variety of extra curricular activities. There is a strong focus on literacy and numeracy attainment across the curriculum. This is enhanced by extensive staff knowledge and understanding in the Productive Pedagogies.
