Opening Hours

The Piccabeen Canteen is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30am until 1:50pm.  

First break, also known as big lunch, starts at 11am. During play time, 11am-11:30am students can purchase frozen and snack items over the counter from the tuckshop with cash. The children eat lunch from 11:30am – 11:45am.

Second break starts at 1:15pm. During play time, 1:15pm-1:35pm students can purchase frozen and snack items over the counter from the tuckshop with cash. The children eat from 1:35pm – 1:45pm, cold and frozen items are sent to the classrooms in the lunch tubs.

Orders must be placed by 9am in a paper bag handed to the tuckshop or via FlexiSchools External link. FlexiSchools orders must be placed by 8:15am.

​The Piccabeen Canteen is closed the first week of school and the first Monday of term.

Ordering

For convenience and ease of ordering, lunches be ordered online through the FlexiSchools External link. program.

Frozen items can only be ordered for second break via FlexiSchools, however they can be purchased at the tuckshop at the start of both breaks.

Please remember to order before the cut-off time, 8:15am

Coffee is also available for parents to purchase at the tuckshop.

Menu

Our me​nu has been designed to meet the requirements outlined in the Smart Choices – Healthy Food and Drink Supply Strategy for QLD schools. We prepare a range of healthy meals on-site using fresh ingredients from our school edible garden and local producers .

Breakfast

Pancakes are available from 8:15 am on Thursdays. Tea and coffee are also available for parents to purchase.  

Forgotten or lost lunch

Should a child forget or lose their lunch, they are to report to their teacher so arrangements can be made.  

Staffing and volunteers

We are lucky to have several staff and regular volunteers, they love to meet new volunteers and can help with any enquires.

Our tuckshop is operated by the P&C Association, and all profits go directly back to the school.

Volunteers are always needed to help at the tuckshop. If you can help for a couple of hours, please call the Tuckshop on 5453 2408
