Hours and procedures          ​
The Piccabeen Canteen is open ​​Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:15am until 1:50pm.  

First break is at 11:30 am. During play time, between 11am -11:15am students can purchase extra items over the counter from the tuckshop with cash.

Second break is at 1:15pm. Between 1:15pm -1:30pm students can purchase extra items over the counter from the tuckshop with cash.

Orders must be placed by 9am in a paper bag handed to the tuckshop or via FlexiSchools. FlexiSchools orders must be placed by 8:15 am.​

Tea and coffee are also available for parents to purchase.

Piccabeen Canteen Cance​​llation ​policy

Daily Lu​​nch Orders via Flexischools

If your child is absent and has a lunch order placed through Flexischools, the order must be cancelled in flexischools before 8:30am for a full refund to apply.
If notified before 8:30am, you may choose to:
▪ receive a refund,
▪ transfer th​e order to another day,
• Uncollected Items If an ordered item has not been collected, the tuckshop will notify the class at the end of second break. If the item remains uncollected, it will be discarded at the end of the day in line with food safety regulations.

​Piccabeen Canteen Fun Food Days

No refunds will be provided for cancellations on Special Food Days, after the closure of ordering cutoff. (3 days prior to event)

• Please note that orders placed for special event days (e.g. Red Food Days, special menus) cannot be refunded after the ordering cutoff date, as these items are prepared in advance with products not normally carried by the tuckshop.

In cases where a child is absent, parents may choose:

▪ Call the canteen before 8.00am, and have the order collected after 10.30am.

We thank you for your understanding, helping to ensure the continued success of future events and the ongoing affordability of our school tuckshop.​

Menu

Our menu ​​​​​has been designed to meet the requirements outlined in the Smart Choices – Healthy Food and Drink Supply Strategy for QLD schools. We prepare a range of healthy meals on-site using fresh ingredients from our school edible garden and local producers.

Breakfast

Pancakes are available from 8:15am on Thursdays. Tea and coffee are also available for parents to purchase. ​ 

Staffing and volunteers

Our tuckshop is operated by the P&C Association and all profits go directly back to the school. The tuckshop convenor is employed part-time to run the tuckshop. We are committed to serving healthy school approved foods.

Volunteers are always needed to help at the tuckshop. If you can help for a couple of hours, please call the school on 5453 2408 and ask to speak with Sam or Ronnee (tuckshop convenors).​
